Guild Mum

Each to his or her own, but my priority has always been pets. So … the new patch came on a work day when I had lots to do and had agreed not to play much in the evening … Durrr me. Once in a while I wish I was 20 something, single, had no mates, lived in my Mum’s basement and could play WOW all day. Yesterday (like most patch days and special event days) was one of those days. I managed during my late lunch break about 3.30pm to get my Curious Wolvar.

I felt a bit guilty picking the Wolvar as I think they are the more aggressive of the two factions and mis-treat the Orcales, but I am revered with the Oracles, have been for weeks and every week buy a new egg and have not received a Proto-Drake. Other far less deserving complete and utter uncaring noobs have them and it saddens me, so I picked the Wolvar to look after first. (I can do the other one next Children’s Week I think - so the bloody Oracles have until then to redeem themselves).

So - one new pet down - 9 more to go (well, 8 because I now can’t get the Oracle). I did have a bit of a panic when I completed the last Orphan quest and didn’t get my pet, wrote to a GM and complained, then found it in my post box, quickly abandoning my ticket

The Obsidian Hatchling was easy - just gold for that one. So two pets in a lunch time. Back to work and family and stuff.

Got daughter to bed and Barkie was on a business phone call, so I logged in to sort out some AH stuff. In trade chat I happened to notice someone saying they had put the new Deviate Hatchling on the AH. OMG! I was just about to go farming in Wailing Caverns for one. I had a sinking feeling that the price would be completely stupid and of the 5K plus order like most of the whelps go for, but it seemed that the seller had NO idea of the value of the pet and it was up for 499g. Since I had just collected 750g from my auctions I snapped it up and posted it to Seph.

Three new pets in one day - not bad. I was farming for another in Zul’Drak when the guild asked for a replacement healer in the Coliseum 10 man thing. Obviously my arrival saved the day and, lying dead on the arena floor, I watched as the rest of the team completely the event. Three of the new tokens - hurrah!

I stopped then as Barkie came off the phone, but son came in enthusing about the new PVP place so managed to tempt Barkie and me back online to have a go. That was confusing and strange. I didn’t really enjoy it much. The boys did and I kept them alive OK, so was a pleasant enough end to the evening.

Tonight is a definite “off” night, then on Friday we are taking advantage of the new saved ID feature and going back to kill Yogg-Saron before re-setting and badge collecting after and/or on Sunday. I’m happy that we can have another go at him without having to clear it all again.
