Sephrenia becomes a REAL Priestess
We interupt the post we were making about our Onyxia kill to bring you the following news - Sephrenia has finally become a proper priestess. Several months ago I went and cleared up in MC with a bunch of guildies to prove that I had actually killed Ragnaros to the silly achievement system, which seemed to have missed it. On the way Majordomo had something lying in his chest which nobody else wanted. The Eye of Divinity. Seph picked it up and stored it in her bank. Occasionally she would go off to Blasted Lands to kill things to try to drop The Eye of Shadow but never really got anywhere with it. Mooching through the Auction House yesterday evening because our BT raid got cancelled because not enough folks wanted to go, I found one for 150g. I snapped it up and set about reading how to complete this epic journey for a priestess.
First of all I had to equip the Eye of Divinity and find an NPC in EPL. I rode about a bit (hurry up flying in Azeroth - I got a 310% mount waiting you know) and eventually found her. She had quite a bit to say about herself and what had happened at Stratholme…

Powerful priestess, huh - did she really mean me? Apparently not - I failed my first try. I didn’t read about the task enough and the skeletons came and ate too many of my peasants, I ran out of mana dispelling them all and renewing them while trying to keep near the NPC, which I didn’t actually have to do. Read more carefuly Seph…. Fortunately, you no longer have to wait 2 hours for the NPC to respawn - so 15 minutes later I could try again. I still didn’t read enough because I now know that you can apparently see all the peasants health using Shift-V, which I didn’t know and so had to click them all, but I managed to help them through safely - using my mana fiend, my hymn of hope AND a mana potion. I just about saved enough of them to complete my task!

I joined my splinter with the eye of shadow and got it! I got the real priestly thing - the twinkle, sparkle, BENEDICTION. I am a real priest at last.

I am overjoyed. I don’t think most of my guild friends appreciated what it means to me. OK, so it is 2 expansion packs too late. But I never played Seph much before TBC came out. She hit level 60 2 days before everyone raced off to Outlands and I decided that she would be my main.
It felt like a major achievement. It will sit in my bags for a while and then will be stored in my bank for posterity. Proof that I can actually be a real priest, even if it is a bit late in the day. I’m unlikely to complete my fragment collection (I’ve got 4) and get Val’Anyr in the immediate future (maybe I can go back and get that in 2 expansions time), but this feels GOOD. It gives me a warm fuzzy glow. The evil version, Anathema looks good too. Shame about the 30 minute cool-down on swapping them over.

I am a happy little priestess. There should be an achievement just for priests to get it - it feels like I imagine it must feel for a druid to get swift flight form, or for paladins and warlocks to get their epic mounts the proper way - not by going to the trainers to get it. I do feel that WOW has been dumbed down recently. Apart from the mace getting there isn’t really anything truly epic feeling about the game to me. I do hope that when we finally get to kill Arthas it WILL feel like an epic achievement.
This has reminded me of some of my favourite comics - The Chronicles of the Flaming Rubies. This helped Benediction become such a thing that I wanted…

I love the way every time she draws a priest she has “Twinkle, Shine” by their Benedictions
Go read her comics and take yourselves back to the days of Tier 2. Bliss!
