Guild Mum

OK, so we’re getting there with the Lich King. Last night we had more tries and spent 2 hours of fun. It’s a testament to guild spirit that people didn’t get cross, grumpy or start waggling the blame finger very much. We talked things through, worked out what didn’t quite work right, gathered up and tried again.

We finally fought our way through phase 1, the transition, survived phase 2 and got to the second transition phase and decided to end on a high of getting there. We survived the defiles and Val’kyr swoops. It felt like real progress.

We had a few funnies. One imminent wipe the Paladin tank decided to DI me just as we ended the first transition…..

I was stuck mid air in my protective bubble as the platform disappeared from under me! Fortunately it came back and I managed to res those who had not collapsed with it!

People took to doing “interesting” things during the minute long intro speech that inspired my previous alternative ending. Last night, our feral druid (who was cat for the night, having previously covered the role of bear tank and tree healer on alternate visits) was playing on the stairs as Arthas came down and I thought of another fantastic way for LK to die. He could start down the stairs, then trip up over the steathed kitty lying across the stairs (like my cat does when he’s trying to kill me), tumble head over foot down the stairs and land on Frostmourne, consuming himself! Muahaha - killed by his own sword.

Yes, the mind does some strange things when you’re seeing and hearing that speech for the eleventy billionth time! But soon, soon it WILL be over. This week I have watched as other bloggy (Rahana at Blueberry totem) friends (Larisa at Pink Pigtail Inn) have valiantly worked with their respective guilds to down him and they have really inspired me! I feel right on the verge of something fantastic and I can’t wait to share it here.

(There’s probably others, but I remembered seeing these two this week because at various stages in my time I’ve considered moving to join their guilds, but have not done it for other various reasons - mostly because I’ve been with MY guild for a long, long time and I can’t really face leaving even when I get low and miserable - I love you all too much guys )
