See what happens when you get sidetracked by a cute baby picture.

You miss posting the best letter to Blizzard in the whole of this debacle….

I’m sure a lot of my readers (yeah, 3 of you) will have read this, but in case you didn’t for me, this says it all.

An Open Letter to Blizzard

It is amazingly well written, frank, honest, amusing and open. Go read it!

It addresses the big thing that has kind of put me off RealID, which I have had no issues with so far, but it’s strange calling my guild mates by their real names, even though I knew them already. It’s odd seeing a little message “John Smith has logged in” when John Smith is an evil girl warlock or a tiny gnome rogue.

I do like being able to talk to my friends even if they are on another real or faction though.

I’m really glad Blizzzard actually listened too. It was a really stupid idea.

Agree, thank Elune for her protection (and guidance of the Deathwing Cultists at Blizz)

The open letter was definitely one of the best I’ve seen in ages. Really enjoyed the read. And made me want to set out to kill some dragons (Halion to start with)

…come to think of it, I love the concept of RealID, just want to have people’s nicks instead of their names. Seph will always be Seph, regardless of which toon or RL name, just as I like to be Tira.

However, when I look at the younger generation (e.g. my son who’s 15), I see a slightly different attitude. Also probably because a good deal of his RL friends are in the game. And maybe because they never played D&D with a 20-sided or 4-sided dice. Oh well, as long as I can remain Tira’d, I’m a happy pup.
